Evsei Yakovlevich Wittenberg
Evsei Yakovlevich Wittenberg was born in 1905 in Mstsislaw. He entered the Leningrad Institute of Civil Engineers in 1926 and graduated in 1930. One of his most prominent projects is the Moscow Metro system. He was involved in the design and construction of several metro stations, including Mayakovskaya, Kropotkinskaya, and Novoslobodskaya. In addition, he designed residential buildings in Moscow, Leningrad, Kiev, and Minsk. He received the title People’s Architect of the USSR in recognition of his work. He died in 1962 in Moscow.
